Francesca Gotti is an architect and researcher, investigating practices of empowerment through spatial intervetions and simulations. She holds a Ph.D. from Politecnico di Milano about critical spatial practices in South Europe. Between 2019-2021 she has been research fellow at DASTU for the European project “En/counter/points”, on participatory reactivations of neglected urban spaces and in 2025 at UniPv for the project COSMO on urban commons and self-building practices. In 2021 and 2022 she was assistant professor at USI Academy of Mendrisio for the design studio NEOTOPIA lead by Leopold Banchini. Since 2015, she mediates projects of reuse of urban commons in Bergamo, through shared management and self-built interventions. Since 2016, she is part of the editorial board of ARK magazine (Bergamo), curating a column on the re-appropriation of the neglected landscape of Lombardia.
